Description
AppApp is an app designed to help you organize, backup and quickly get the useful information about the applications on your Android device. That is... it's an app for your apps.
To be a user of AppApp you do not need to know or understand the logic and structure of applications or their placement on your device. Nothing AppApp does requires rooting or special permissions.
Some of the many features that have been built into AppApp:
-
Locate all backed up application package files (.apk) and installed apps on your device
-
Organize apps that have been backed up and installed into easy-to-read sorted lists
-
Back up and consolidate your apps into a single user chosen directory
-
A permission rating system using color indicators for potential invasiveness for each app
-
Search among all of your apps
-
Install / reinstall backed up apps
-
Purge duplicates
-
Email apps
AppApp includes a Permission Rating Indicator which provides a quick reference to the potential invasiveness of the apps you have on your device without having to wade through the many possible permissions an app may request. For more information see the Permission Ratings page.
Permissions Used by AppApp
The developers of AppApp have made sure that minimal permissions are required to perform the function for which it was designed, and only requires the three permissions:
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
The READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE are needed so that the Backup and Consolidation functionality can be performed on externally mounted media such as an SD card.
